Description

Simple stitches. Lasting beauty. A kinder tomorrow.

Wild Tulips is a crochet throw built from a four-row repeat that you will know by heart before the first skein runs out. Rows of single crochet alternate with paired double crochet clusters, and those clusters open into small tulip shapes across the fabric — textured, a little bit lacy, and far more impressive than the skills it actually asks of you.

It is an easy pattern. Genuinely easy, not “easy for someone who has crocheted for twenty years”. If you can single crochet, double crochet, and count to three, you can make this blanket.

At a glance

  • Finished size: approximately 48″ × 48″
  • Skill level: easy
  • Yarn: #2 Fine (baby weight), approximately 1,500–1,700 yards / 300–340 g
  • Hook: 4 mm (G/6)
  • Stitch repeat: any multiple of 3
  • Pattern repeat: 4 rows

What’s in the download

  • A full materials and yardage list, with gauge
  • A practice swatch to work before you commit to a whole blanket
  • Written row-by-row instructions for all four rows
  • Close-up photography of the stitch so you can check your work against it
  • Notes on adjusting the width to any size you like

Any size you want

The written instructions give you a 48″ square throw, but the stitch works over any multiple of three. Chain more for a bed-sized blanket, chain fewer for a baby blanket, and work the four rows until it looks right. Nothing else changes.

That flexibility is deliberate. A great many of these will be made for children through Project Linus, and every chapter needs different sizes.

Please note

This is a digital PDF pattern, not a finished blanket. Nothing will be posted to you. Your download link appears on the confirmation screen and in your email as soon as you check out, and it stays available in your account.

This pattern is for your own use. Please don’t copy, resell or redistribute the file — but do sell anything you make from it, and do make as many as you like for charity.

Happy hooking, and may your hands create beauty, kindness, and brighter tomorrows.

Create ♥ Make ♥ Give

Stewardship & Stitches is one of the ways I personally help support Project Linus of Alabama Gulf Coast, where I too volunteer my time and money. What this shop earns helps me keep this chapter going.

If you’d like to give to the chapter directly, without buying anything, here’s how to donate — please be sure to name our chapter on the Headquarters form, or the funds will not reach us.
