Meet Melanie, Your Chapter Coordinator
Hi everyone — I’m Melanie, and I’m glad to introduce myself as your Project Linus Chapter Coordinator for the Alabama Gulf Coast.
This isn’t my first time in this role. I served as a chapter coordinator once before, in Southeast Louisiana, and I’m glad to be part of this work again — bringing people together to make and share handmade blankets with children who need comfort and security.
A look back at our New Orleans chapter
Here are some photos from those years, so you can put a face to my name and see what this work looks like day to day — blankets tagged and bagged, quilts folded and ready to go, a car packed for a delivery, and a donation basket heading in to a drop-off location.

Whatever you make, you’re welcome here
Whether you quilt, crochet, knit, or would like to help in another way, I’m glad you’re here. I’m looking forward to getting to know you, seeing what you’re making, and building a welcoming community of blanketeers here in Baldwin and Mobile Counties.
Come say hello
Join us in the Project Linus Alabama Gulf Coast group on Facebook and introduce yourself — tell us what you enjoy making. If you would like to start on a blanket straight away, the blanket guidelines cover sizes, fabrics and everything we can accept.
Warmly,
Melanie
Project Linus of Alabama Gulf Coast
